“Flowers of the Great Hall’ Presentation & Create a Dutch Masterpiece with Remco Van Vliet – February 6th or 7th, 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Remco Van Vliet is a third generation florist as well as the official floral designer for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Born and raised in Holland, Remco probably knows more about the growing and arranging of flowers than any other florist in New York.  His lectures on Van Gogh’s flowers have drawn sold out audiences at the Met Museum, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and other prestigious venues around the world.

In this class, Remco will kick things off with a demonstration of a large scale installation for the Great Hall at The Met.  He will then recreate a Dutch Masterpiece painting with the style and grace these iconic painters brought to their brushstrokes. In this class you will not only design an outstanding Dutch-inspired floral design to take home, but you will also learn unique insider knowledge about the floral design industry, history, art and more!
