In this course, Monica will help each student capture and appreciate the romance and passion that only flowers can exude. Learn Monica’s techniques for pairing flowers for maximum impact. Flowers will be curated and chosen by Monica with care in order to best reflect the seductive and sensual nature of botany. With Monica’s guidance, each student will produce a stunning arrangement featuring some of her favorite romantic blooms such as ranunculus, peonies, and of course, sensuous roses. We invite couples to enjoy this class together as well as friends and other flower lovers. Each ticket includes one arrangement to take home and enjoy.
Join the talented and effervescent, Juan Villanueva of Villanueva Designs for a 2.5 hour workshop showcasing the unique and lush florals of spring. April showers bring us springtime flowers, and we’re ready to be enticed by the soft and chic blossoms associated with this season of growth and change. Tulips, hyacinth, bearded iris, delphinium and, of course, peonies are some of the gorgeous florals that Juan will incorporate into his stunning design. Each student will be led by Juan in the creation of their own springtime celebration arrangement to take home to enjoy and admire.
In this course, students will learn the benefits and mechanics of a building sustainably-focused installations, which will appeal to eco-conscious brands and clients. Together with Juan, students will create a foam-free flower wall in the morning followed by a foam-free hanging installation in the afternoon. As customer awareness grows and concerns for our environmental health becomes a driving force for progress, learning how to maximize sustainability is an ever growing and essential skill to learn. Through Juan’s guidance, each student will participate in the conceptualization and realization of these trendy floral creations.
This 3-day Event Planning series is for florists, caterers, event planners or anyone planning an event. Students will learn the workflow, fundamentals and best way to realize a fully planned event. In this simulated project management course, we will show you how to plan an event from start to finish. You will meet your Client, and learn how to create layouts, timelines, and budgets, as well as the elements of design. You will also learn about vendor relations and get to meet real industry professionals.
In this workshop, you will have over 40 essential oils to choose from and will learn how to hand-pour two 8oz coconut wax candles into glass jars and customize with infused flowers and your own fragrance blend to take home with you!
Photographs of floral designs can often be the only record of a beautiful design or concept. In this workshop students will learn how to take a professional still life photo using a traditional SLR camera and their iPhone, as well as learn how good photos impacts marketing, branding and client outreach.
Flower crowns are always a favorite fashion accessory! Come learn the mechanics and explore the beauty of making flower crowns under the guidance of our in-house flower crown expert, Tom Sebenius! This workshop provides the opportunity to create a beautiful, handcrafted floral crown, while learning a few professional techniques of floristry. All of the tools and materials you will need for the class will be provided, along with light refreshments! Wear your flower crown home or box it up as a gift!
Open Studios are for students who are interested in floral design and want to make a beautiful arrangement with the help of an experienced florist. This studio class provides the opportunity to create a seasonal, contemporary, garden style design while learning a few professional techniques of floristry. You then get to bring your arrangement home to enjoy!
Our Open Studio Class is also a great option for a variety of activities: professional team building time, bridal and baby showers, birthday parties and more. Making flower arrangements in this low-key setting is a fun way to connect and celebrate!

This series of classes is intended for beginning-level students who have an interest in learning foundation level skills in floral design. Skills include how to correctly handle and care for flowers, how to use a floral knife and clippers, and the conditioning of flowers for optimal vase-life longevity. This series teaches simple, high-end designs that highlight the flowers’ most beautiful and unique characteristics. Once learned, these designs can be recreated at home again and again.
After learning the basic floristry techniques in the Introductory Series, the Intermediate Series takes students to the next level of floristry. This program will teach students how to build recipes and purchase flowers at the Flower Market as well as how to manage scaling up their projects while delivering very fashionable designs.

The Intensive Series is FlowerSchool’s most popular program for individuals wanting to learn how to work with flowers like a professional designer. You will learn how to create modern designs like Master Florist Michael George and classic designs like Master Florist Remco Van Vliet of the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art. This program is a combination of the Introductory Series and the Intermediate Series that encompasses the basics of all you need to know to be a professional florist.
The Advanced Design Series follows the Intensive Series where students learn more advanced techniques, and begin to develop their own style of floral design. Students will learn four new design mechanics and will learn how to differentiate between different design styles including organic, classic and modern. Each student will also be responsible for creating a concept and design, picking their own color palette for each instructional technique, and selecting their own flowers to best fit their concept.
