FlowerSchool LA offers a variety of courses depending on your interests and amount of time you would like to dedicate to floral design. Students often begin with an Open Studio class to explore the world of design, or a Master Class to learn style and trends from some of the world’s most accomplished florists.

If looking for a longer course, our most popular series is the Intensive Series, which combines the Introductory and Intermediate classes in one full week. Here students learn the FlowerSchool Method of Design, which includes how to correctly handle and care for flowers, use tools such as a floral knife and clippers and to condition flowers for optimal vase-life. You will also learn how to create ten different high-end designs that highlight each flower’s most beautiful and unique characteristics from gift arrangements, hand-tied bouquets, centerpieces designs and much more. This series also includes a buying trip to the Los Angeles flower market. In this class students learn where flowers come from, how to purchase flowers and speak with wholesalers. The total cost for this class is $2,600 and is one full week. This is where most people begin taking classes at the school. Following the Intensive Series, many students move onto more series such as the three day Advanced Design Series.

A 5% transaction fee will be applied to all refund transactions.

Depending on how much time you are interested in dedicating, we suggest taking either our two-day Introductory Series or our one week Intensive Series, which combines the Introductory and Intermediate classes in one week.

In the two-day Introductory Series, students learn the FlowerSchool Method of Design which includes how to correctly handle and care for flowers, use tools such as a floral knife and clippers, and to condition flowers for optimal vase-life. You will also learn how to create four different high-end designs that highlight each flower’s most beautiful and unique characteristics from gift arrangements, hand-tied bouquets, centerpieces designs and much more. The total cost for this course is $1,100 and is two days.

However, if you are interested in taking a longer series, we suggest the Intensive Series which combines the Introductory classes (which is described above) and the Intermediate classes into one week. Again, students learn the FlowerSchool Method of Design as well as the best practices of the industry. In addition, here you learn 10 different design styles and take a buying trip to the Flower Market to learn how to work with wholesalers.

No, the Master Classes are intended for students of all levels. Less about specific techniques, these classes are intended to teach the best and most exciting trends and designs from some of the world’s top Master Florists. Like taking a class with a master chef, these classes are more inspirational and style focused than technical.

Yes, we offer private classes at a general cost of $350 per person plus the cost of the flowers for a two-hour session with a FlowerSchool LA designer. The Intensive Series is the Introductory and Intermediate classes combined in one week. Included in this series is a buying trip to the Los Angeles flower market.
